Lower energy bills and save money
Our accredited home energy consultation assessors are Gippsland locals with over 10 years of experience in helping people save money by reducing their home energy usage. We’re making that happen with home energy assessments that give you a personalised plan of action and providing some of the key services ourselves.
If we can’t do it, we can refer you to home energy consultants who can.

Meet Our Assessors
Dr Malcolm McKelvie
Malcolm has lived and worked in West Gippsland as a general practitioner since the mid 1990’s. He’s passionate about buildings and saving energy and has volunteered countless hours with BBSN offering assessments and retrofit work.
He’s an experienced home energy assessor, air tightness testing (blowerdoor) assessor and is a certified Level 1 thermographer for a home energy consultation.
Michael Hafner
Mike has a background in heating, ventilation and air conditioning engineering. On moving to Gippsland he became an accredited home energy assessor and air tightness tester for home energy audits.
Michele Geoffrey
Michele Geoffrey has lived in Gippsland for many years. She is an experienced home energy assessor and is our only NatHERS assessor.
As a NatHERS Assessor, Michele is a professional energy consultation assessor who has completed relevant training and belongs to an Assessor Accrediting Organisation (AAO). Energy consultation assessors must have a basic understanding of construction, building thermal performance and applicable regulations.
Accredited assessors receive ongoing technical support as well as access to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training
Why do we need to do this?
Unfortunately, most homes in Gippsland have not been built with energy efficiency in mind and are only comfortable by relying on energy guzzling heating and cooling appliances.
Energy prices are rising and people living in poor quality homes are facing the choice to be freezing cold in winter and hot in summer OR pay large energy bills just to be comfortable.
We know all homes can be improved to make them more comfortable and cheaper to run but people need to know how to do it and they need a trusted source of information.
